Buy Bitcoin if you hate Bitcoin
Dear hater! What if you see our predictions about this monetary apex predator come to fruition? Shouldn't you be hedged against being wrong?
There are three types of people.
Those who get Bitcoin, they tend to love it.
Those who don't care, they are indifferent.
And those who hate Bitcoin, they really, really hate it.
They hate it because it's mere existence calls into question some of their most dearly held believes. Case in point is the MMT crowd. They talk and talk and talk but they would *never* admit, that Bitcoin existing invalidates their whole theory - and by extension their career.
Of course I can relate. I also have some believes that I hold dearly. I took a big risk (at least from the normie perspective) and jumped into Bitcoin as a career. I know the risks to my reputation. But I also know that none of the problems I have already seen long before I accepted Bitcoin would disappear if Bitcoin fails. I write "accepted" because it took me 7 years to finally give Bitcoin a shot at solving these problems - for me and for society at large.
Now, here is the thing: Obviously I bought and sold and bought and sold over these 7 years. I bought my first Bitcoin in 2013 but going into the pandemic of 2020 I held exactly zero. When I finally "accepted" Bitcoin I had to also accept the fact that my stack will be a hell of a lot smaller than what a "small amount" would have been in 2013.
I'm not looking for sympathy here, I just want to illustrate the point: The best course of action even for those who are sceptical of Bitcoin or even hate it, is to just hold some.
Let me ask you this, dear Bitcoin hater: Are you prepared to be wrong? Because I am. Like I said, the problems our broken monetary system has don't go away if Bitcoin fails. But what if it doesn't?
What if you have to see our predictions about this apex predator of the monetary world come to fruition. Even worse: What if we're still really, really early (we are).
What then, hater?
I suspect some of the smarter high profile bashers of Bitcoin have secretly accumulated a stack.
Then there is those who are so deep down the rabbit hole of virtue signalling and the sweet promises of collectivism that they will never get over being spectacularly on the wrong side of history and just continue with living under severe cognitive dissonance.
They're hopeless.
But if you are at least a little bit curious. About the technology, the social layer, the memes even. Why don't you give it a try?
The best hedge against being wrong about Bitcoin is owning some Bitcoin. (This is not financial advice.)
See you all in Prague next week,
Niko
